The City of Depoe Bay is now accepting Applications for vacant and/or expiring term City Commission/Committee positions.  If you are interested, and qualify to serve on a City Commission/Committee, the Council requests that you complete and submit an Application for consideration.

Application Forms may be obtained at Depoe Bay City Hall, 570 S.E. Shell Avenue, Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. or the City’s Website

Applications must be submitted at Depoe Bay City Hall by 4:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 14, 2018.  The City Council will be considering all Applications received and will schedule Interviews for the positions listed below at the March 20, 2018 Regular Council Meeting.

Job Announcement Utility Worker


Full time (40 hours/week) position, annual salary range $36,768.77 - $45,881.37 DOE/Q (less 5% during 6 month probationary period), benefits include medical, dental, life and vision insurance; PERS. Duties include, but not limited to, working as member of Depoe Bay Public Works Crew as a Utility worker in the following departments, Water distribution and Wastewater collections, City  Streets, City Parks and Buildings and the Depoe Bay Harbor. Municipal construction and maintenance skills are a plus.    

Minimum requirements: High School diploma or equivalent; possession of, or ability to obtain and maintain, valid Oregon driver’s license;  Certification Level 1 minimum, and the ability to obtain a Level II in Oregon within one year, in Wastewater Collections, and Water Distribution.  Full job description is available on cities web site,

Job Announcement Part Time Harbor Worker


The City of Depoe Bay is looking for a seasonal Harbor Worker. This position is part time 20 to 30 hours/week, starting in April through September. The duties will mostly focus on dispensing fuel for boats, also helping with maintenance duties. Person should be familiar with record keeping and billing, have construction and maintenance skills, and be able to work with the public.    Please call 541-765-3005 for more information. Draft Commercial Zone Design Guidelines


The Depoe Bay Planning Commission is currently drafting potential design guidelines for future development in the C-1 Retail Commercial Zone.  The overall purpose of the design guidelines is a desire to make the commercial areas more pedestrian friendly and enhance the attractiveness through implementation of some architectural standards.  The public is encourage to review and comment on the draft guidelines.  Comments may be submitted to City Hall, forwarded via email to, or by attending a Planning Commission meeting.

Transient Room Tax Rate Increase

Effective October 1, 2017, per Ordinance #313 adopted at the July 5, 2017 City Council meeting, the Transient Room Tax and Transient Occupancy Tax rates for the City of Depoe Bay will increase from 8% to 9.5%.
