REQUEST: The applicant requests Planning Commission approval of a Coastal Shorelands Development Permit to construct a new, 90 square foot storage shed, and cover an existing walkway, at the above referenced property in the City’s Commercial C-1 Zone. The subject property is located within the City’s Coastal Shorelands Overlay – CSO - Zone, where any development requires Commission approval of a Coastal Shorelands Development – CSD – Permit. The CSO Zone is implemented in conjunction with the underlying C-1 Zone. Existing site development includes a 4-unit residential structure used for short term rentals, or tourist accommodations, an associated parking lot, and landscaping. The project is not located on significant slopes as identified by the Depoe Bay Comprehensive Plan Inventory or Lincoln County geographic information system, and is outside of coastal setbacks required by the Depoe Bay Zoning Ordinance. The proposal conforms with applicable development standards of the C-1 and CSO Zones.

PUBLIC HEARING DETAILS: On July 8, 2026, the Depoe Bay Planning Commission will convene at 6PM for their regularly scheduled meeting, during which a public hearing will be conducted to consider the applicant’s request. Public attendance is invited. Directions for attending the public hearing virtually will be available the week of the scheduled hearing. Please contact City Hall at that time for this information. Oral testimony will be accepted during the public hearing. If you will not be attending the public hearing in person or virtually, all written testimony must be received prior to 4PM on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Written testimony may be brought to Depoe Bay City Hall; mailed via the US Postal Service to the post office box below; or emailed to the City Planner.
TESTIMONY: Testimony submitted prior to the close of the record and consistent with the above will be entered into the record. Failure to raise an issue on the record, either in person or in writing, or failure to provide statements/evidence sufficient to afford the Planning Commission an opportunity to respond to the issue(s), including failure of the applicant to raise constitutional or other objections to conditions of approval, precludes appeal to the Land Use Board of Appeals or award in circuit court on that issue.
APPLICATION MATERIALS: Application materials, documents and evidence submitted by or on behalf of the applicant are available by email at request and may be inspected at City Hall. Hard copies may be obtained at cost. Documents or evidence submitted by the applicant within 20 days prior to the hearing constitutes grounds for a continuance of the hearing if any party requests such a continuance. Copies of the staff report for this case will be available for review, and may be emailed on request, inspected or purchased at Depoe Bay City Hall, 570 SE Shell Avenue, seven days prior to the hearing.
