Please remember that fireworks of all kinds are illegal in Depoe Bay (Oceania to Boiler Bay). Our deputies will be on patrol on Thursday the 2nd through Sunday the 5th.
To report fireworks, contact the Lincoln County Sheriff's Non-Emergency Dispatch at 541-265-0777. However, it's important to understand that when the deputy responds, if he (or she) does not actually SEE the fireworks or see someone with fireworks, he/she can take no action unless the caller is willing to swear out a complaint. When you call, please be as specific as possible so the deputies know where to go. Thanks!
Though we love the bright colors and thrill of fireworks, others do not and this includes our furry four-footed friends and wildlife. There are plenty of things to do to celebrate our Independence Day without fireworks. Here are some ideas:
- Host a Patriotic Picnic
- Go to a Parade. Depoe Bay will have our very own float in the Gleneden Parade. Come say hi!
- Enjoy a Family Movie Marathon
- Host a Potluck with your Neighbors
- Have a Red, White, and Blue Themed Scavenger Hunt
- Host a Fireworks Free Backyard Game Night
- Watch Fireworks on TV or a Streaming Service
- Organize a 4th of July Themed Back-Off
- Host a Patriotic Trivia Night
- Party with Sparklers
- Sip on Beer at a Local Brewery
- Lay on a Blanket and Watch for Shooting Stars
- Blow Bubbles
- Go Fly a Kite
- Shoot off Biodegradable Confetti Poppers
- Have a Super-Soaker Water Fight
- Make a DIY 4th of July Balloon Game
- String Up Colorful LED Lights
