Water/Sewer Service

Establishing Water and Sewer Service

To start water and sewer service, the property owner must submit a signed Application for Water and Sewer Service. To avoid any disruption in service, applications should be received by our office before the property close date.

All utility accounts are required to be in the name of the property owner. Even if a tenant is living at the property, all billing will remain under the owner's name. The City of Depoe Bay Utility Billing Department does not open accounts in the name of tenants or other occupants, and cannot pursue collections actions against tenants.

For information about billing tenants or prorating charges, please contact our office directly.

For new developments including single family dwellings, effective date of service begins with the date of meter installation.

Water/Sewer accounts are billed bi-monthly.

Charges & Fees

Basic Water and Sewer service charges for a single family per Equivalent Dwelling Unit (EDU):   (Effective 7/1/2026)   

          Breakdown:                                                       

  • Water $68.49* base fee plus Usage: $5.15 per 1,000 gallons
  • Sewer $74.95 base fee plus Usage: $7.95 per 1,000 gallons

    Customers in the former Miroco Water District area are subject to an additional fee. 
 $143.44 plus Usage Fees Bi-Monthly
New Customer Processing fee $25 (on first bill)
Turn-off Notice/ Posting Fee (Delinquency) $30/per notice
Turn-on or Turn-off Water
(either for past due accounts or at customer’s request)		 $25/per action
Lien Filing or Satisfaction of Lien Filing $76/per action

Returned Check Fee

(for Closed Accounts, Non-Sufficient Funds, etc.) Depoe Bay Res. #262

 $28.75/per check

Billing Cycle Dates/Information

  • All water/sewer utility bills are due the 20th day of the month after the bill cycle end date.
     
  • Accounts not paid by the 31st day after the bill cycle end date will be considered delinquent – and incur a $30 late/posting fee and a shut off notice will be posted at the property.

  • No late fee forgiveness. No late fee waivers will be issued for any reason, including not receiving a bill in the mail.  (ORD 348-24)
